February is heart health month. Heart disease and high blood pressure affect a lot of people, some don’t even know they have it. This puts them at risk of a heart attack and/or strokes. High blood pressure has earned the nickname of the “silent killer” because more often than not it has no symptoms.
Because I have some heart related issues, I was excited to receive a chance to try the Ozeri Digital Blood Pressure Monitor. I have to keep a daily check on my blood pressure and my pulse rate. I don’t have high blood pressure. As a matter of fact, mine is the opposite. My blood pressure drops really low. During these episodes, my pulse rate will speed out of control causing me to pass out. It’s a strange and irritating condition to say the least. I have had a pace maker inserted and take several daily heart medications and still stay in a precarious limbo. This is where the heart monitor comes in.
The Ozeri Digital Blood Pressure Monitor comes with a carrying case, a user manual and 2 AAA batteries.
By keeping a close daily watch on my blood pressure and my pulse rate, it helps my doctor adjust my medications to keep me on my feet so to speak. I have a very close and personal relationship with my blood pressure monitor and it has to give me high quality performance and accurate readings!
I had been using a digital blood pressure monitor, but it requires that you wrap it around your arm. Then you have to pump it up for it to give you the reading. This is hard to do if you are by yourself. It’s like a two handed procedure. Therefore, I had to take my blood pressure when there was assistance around. With the Ozeri Digital Blood Pressure Monitor, it’s easy to wrap around the wrist. It fastens securely with velcro, then proceeds to talk to you, letting you know when you have your wrist in the correct position. Once in the correct position, it will inflate to the appropriate level, without any help from you. It then takes your blood pressure and pulse rate. Once finished, you can see it on the face of the LCD screen and it speaks the reading to you. It will also alert you if you are in a danger range.
The Ozeri Digital Blood Pressure Monitor will store up to 180 blood pressure readings. If you want to share with another user, it will store 90 each. The readings are stored with the date and time. Not only does it take your blood pressure, it detects irregular heartbeat, or arrhythmia such as I have. These recordings are convenient for me to allow my doctor to scroll through them. Rather than me having to record them on paper or try explaining them, he can see them all with a touch of a button!
The Ozeri Blood Pressure Monitor comes with a convenient storage case. The case is convenient to carry with you when on the go or take with you to the doctor’s office.
The Ozeri Digital Blood Pressure Monitor in a nutshell:
