Kale steals the show as far as containing powerful antioxidants! It is also loaded in vitamins such as Vitamin K, Vitamin A and Vitamin C. Kale is also know to help prevent cancer and helps lower cholesterol thereby providing cardiovascular support! Finally, Kale aids in detoxification! Whew! What a vegetable superstar!
But, here is the glitch! Kale is one of those vegetables that not many people like. Actually, prepared wrong or in certain ways, I can agree with them. BUT, when added to a delicious assortment of fruit and blended in the blender, it is turned into a super yummy and healthy smoothie! You never realize the kale is in the smoothie! Brilliant! Kale Green Smoothie with Pineapple, Peach and Mango
1 cup frozen chopped kale
1 cup frozen blend of pineapple, peaches and mango
1 1/2 cups water
1/2 tbsp honey
Combine the frozen fruit, honey, and water in your blender. Blend on high until pureed.
Add the frozen kale and continue blending until all ingredients are smooth and mixed well.
Pour into chilled glass and enjoy!
Tip: I like to buy kale when it is on sale or in season from the farmer’s market. I will finely chop it and freeze it in storage containers or freezer bags for use later. When the ingredients are chopped, frozen, and ready to toss in the blender it makes it so much easier to make a smoothie on the go!
