When we are young, we don’t even notice how well our body works: our skin glows, our hair is thick and shiny, our nails are healthy, and we seem to manage to do everything. However, as we age, we slow down our pace, we cannot run as much, we like staying at home more, and we start noticing how tired we feel. Our metabolism slows down as well, and once that happens, we discover how difficult it is to get it back to the way it was before. Luckily, nature hides many secrets we can use to boost our metabolism naturally.
Your body is slowing down: Boost your metabolism naturally
Why our metabolism slows down?
The reasons are many and they vary from person to person. Ageing, pregnancy, long hours at work spent sitting at the desk looking at computer, unhealthy food are all reasons you feel bloated and tired all the time. We start losing muscle mass because of the way we live and we get into that enchanted circle: we are too tired to do anything, bloated, cranky, and sleepy all the time, so we choose to sleep the minute we get home from work. By doing so we are sending our body a message that we don’t need any extra energy so our muscles (and we) get lazy and tomorrow we are even more tired. On the bright side, there is a way to change all that and get back on track.
A few healthy habits
Completely changing your lifestyle overnight is a big decision and it will blow back inevitably. Instead of going from zero to a hundred in a day, try implementing a few healthy, energizing habits into your routine and see how much better you will feel. Drink a cup of green tea with lemon in the morning, it will give you more energy than a cup of coffee with sugar and cream. When going to work, park a block or two further than you usually do and walk the rest of the way, and choose stair instead f escalator and elevator. Fresh air and this mild morning exercise morning will energize you and brighten up your mood, so you will enter the office with a smile on your face.
Different kinds of workout
Going to the gym is a very effective way to get your heart pumping faster and boost your metabolism. Nevertheless, after a long and hard day at work, when you get home you only want to shower and crawl in your bed, not spend a few more hours sweating heavily in a stuffy room. Choosing to exercise in a creative and interesting way will give you a chance to work out without getting a feeling you’re working out in a first place. Take up dancing lessons, you will be losing weight while trying to remember dance moves, or join your little ones in kids’ party places and jump on the trampoline like you are a kid yourself. You will have so much fun and not even feel like you’re working out and get to spend some quality time with friends and family as well.
Eat your way to health
There is a whole concept of eating your way into sickness, and by choosing to eat pizza and drink sodas every other day you are doing just that. Change that and try to eat your way into health instead by preparing your own healthy meals using fruit, vegetables, and organic food. Berries and nuts are great antioxidants and they will make you feel better within days. Smoothies and shakes made of fruit, green vegetables, and Greek yogurt are wonderful replacement for sugar-filled pastry most people choose to have as a snack when they’re feeling hungry. Omega-3 amino acids found in fish and oil are great for your body and mind as well, so try to eat fish at least once a week.
You don’t have to use pills, syrups, and such; you can easily achieve the same effect by using things Nature gives us. Help your metabolism burn fat more easily, lose weight, and become more energetic by discovering and using natural tricks to make your body and mind feel younger. You will notice the change within several weeks and it will give you motivation to keep going.
