How cute is this Christmas tree?! It’s made from Terra Cotta Flower Pots and a little imagination. This is the easiest tree you’ll ever decorate. You can make it very simply with stuff you find around your home. You can even have the kiddos help you out with this one. What could be easier than a sweet little table decoration? Or, if you have the larger pots, have two of them flanking your home entrance. You’d be the talk of the neighborhood with these sweet decorations that you can use over and over again.
DIY Terra Cotta Christmas Tree
•3 Terracotta Pots – For this tree I used the 3 smallest pots that I could find at the craft store. But keep your eye out for the larger ones as well! This would look so adorable using 3 large pots to create a large tree! Perfect for sitting on a hearth or porch stoop!
•Paint Brush – I used a foam brush
•Small wood star
•Decorations – Try garland beads, pom poms, or find some cute miniature tree ornaments
Lay down some newspaper to paint on. Paint a light coat on the pots. Don’t worry about fully covering on the first coat. The paint will dry quickly on the terracotta.
By the time I was done painting all three pots, they were dry enough to start the second coat. I put 3 coats of paint on mine and got just the color and coverage I was looking for!
Next, paint your star. I did a coat of yellow acrylic paint and topped it with a coat of metallic gold paint.
Stack the pots on top of each other. You can secure with hot glue if you would like.
Take a strand of beads and break apart.
Hot glue your decorations on. You can use regular craft glue if you prefer.
On the top of the tree glue on your star.
Your tree is ready to display!
