Between work and my pups, I pretty much have my hands full. I’m constantly going, whether it’s at my desk or taking the dogs outside for leisure time and I don’t stop until I’m almost asleep on my feet. When you have a schedule as rigid as mine and you sit at the computer for long hours editing, writing and researching, you’re bound to get a stiff back and these days I’m paying for those countless hours at my desk. That’s where these DIY Eucalyptus Shower Melts come in!
In an effort to sooth my aching back and stiff joints, I love taking a shower late at night. Between the jet sprays and the heavenly heat, there’s nothing that relaxing me more after a long day. Except, add to that the scent of eucalyptus! Can there be anything more relaxing than having the scent of Eucalyptus enveloping you in addition to the heat of your shower? These Eucalyptus shower Melts are pure bliss!
DIY Eucalyptus Shower Melts
1 cup cornstarch
4 T water
6 drops Eucalyptus essential oil
*2 drops green food coloring – optional
In a bowl mix together your cornstarch, essential oil and food coloring.
Gradually add your water, a tablespoon at a time.
*If you want to store your shower melts in a cool dry place, then keep your mixture on the crumbly side.
*If you want to keep your shower melts in the freezer until using, then you can add up to 7 T water to make your mixture more of a paste.
Spoon mixture into molds and freeze for one hour.
Depending on how much water you added, either store in a cool dry place, or keep in the freezer until use.
When ready to use, lay the melt on the floor of the shower and it will gradually dissolve.
