We have been doing a lot of remodeling in our home here lately from putting down a new wood floor to adding in new furniture pieces. However, one of the things that never changes is my elephant collection. Y’all may know that I am a dog lover and have my 7 wonderful furbabies here, but I also have a love affair with elephants. I think they are beautiful majestic creatures that are wiser than we give them credit for and I have been collecting elephant prints, figurines, etc. for years. While I have a lot of elephant prints in my home, they already have a home in other rooms and none seem to fit with the decor in the living room with it’s deep brown, beige, and cream decor. So, I went on the hunt for framed earthtone art with elephants!
I found exactly what I was looking for at FramedArt.com! Oh my goodness!!!! I am in love with this ‘Watching the Horizon’ print! The momma elephant with her calves is simply beautiful and it fits perfectly with everything in the room!
After choosing my ‘Watching the Horizon’ framed earthtone art print, it was time to customize it exactly the way I wanted it.
Yes, folks! You get to choose all the little details! From the frame color and size, to how many and what color mats and then on to the glass selections! This allows you to further customize your print to get it just the way you want it – no more, no less!
Framing and Glass Options:
Frame selection: For my frame, I chose to go with the simple black frame in 1 1/4″. This would match the rest of of the pictures and the decor of the room perfectly!
Mat selection: So many options!!! I tried several, but finally settled on having 2 mats. I chose a top mat in expresso brown and a bottom mat (the mat around the picture itself) in black.
Glass selection: Finally, they offer a choice in the glass selection. You have the options of glass – clear, non-glare, and museum quality. They also offered plexiglass in clear or non-glare. Museum quality is super nice, but for me not necessary. Sorry, but if I am going to cut corners – this is where it will be. Museum quality does not offer enough extra for me to spend the extra dollars on it. I always choose clear plexiglass when possible. The plexiglass is lighter weight than glass, yet stronger and you really cannot tell the difference in the looks. So, what is the difference? The plexiglass is not breakable like glass is! For me, non-breakable is a sacred word! So, that is my choice! I also prefer, and chose, the clear instead of the non-glare. This is just a personal choice, but I like the looks of the clear much better.
While you are making all these decision, the picture actually changes on the screen. You can see exactly what your framed art will look like with all the different choices. I love this! Once I had finished with all the choices and satisfied that it was what I wanted, all that was left to do was order it. Easey-peasy!
Within a couple of weeks, my print came in and was perfect! Not only was the painting gorgeous, it came with all the necessary hardware to hang it! And, not only that, it had wall stops attached to the bottom to protect the wall. How many times have you hung a picture and later discovered it had rubbed the paint off the wall? Not fun is it? Well, no worries with a Framed Art print! They have you covered!
I am loving my new ‘Watching the Horizon’ print from FramedArt.com! It was the perfect framed earthtone art I was looking for to go with my elephant collections and also matches up with the deep brown leather furniture and earthtone decor of the room! I am a happy camper here! They have a HUGE collection of framed earthtone art! If you are looking for that just right print, you can find more here! Meanwhile, I guess you can call me the crazy dog elephant lady
