Have you heard of OraMD? It is an all natural liquid toothpaste, mouthwash and breath freshener! The “all natural” caught my attention, making me curious. So, when asked if I would like to give OraMD a try, I said yes!
We all know that bacteria is the culprit of bad breath, but it’s also the leading cause of plaque and gum disease. Well, OraMD is a potent bacteria fighter. It is anti-bacterial, anti-microbial, anti-fungal and anti-inflammatory. It also has powerful plaque fighters, which eliminates the need for toothpaste loaded with chemicals. As the OraMD can be used as a mouthwash, it gets in between the teeth where the bad bacteria hides in the nooks and crannies.

OraMD is made up of three 100% pure botanical oils: peppermint, spearmint, and almond. It is designed to kill the bad bacteria living in your mouth. The peppermint oil fights many types of bacteria and since it is an oil, it doesn’t dry your mouth out like alcohol based toothpaste and mouthwash does. Dry mouth just makes the bacteria problem worse. The spearmint oil also fights 22 known harmful bacteria in your mouth! Combined with the peppermint oil, they make a powerful product! Almond oil is used as a base for the peppermint and spearmint oil.
The OraMD cleans and polishes, but does not contain a whitener. So, if you choose to whiten your teeth you may use your regular whitening toothpaste or baking soda and peroxide. Just rinse well and then use the OraMD.
OraMD is a 5 Step Oral Hygiene Program
1) Brush twice a day in the morning and evening using 2-5 drops of OraMD on a toothbrush and brush normally.
2) Floss every evening before brushing – more frequently as needed.
Get any food particles out from between teeth.
3) Rinse using OraMD as mouthwash twice a day: morning and evening. Just put 2-5 drops into an ounce of water, swish and gargle. This is important to kill the bacteria in the entire mouth including the back of the tongue.
4) Refresh mid-morning, mid-afternoon and as needed: put 2-5 drops on the tip of the tongue to coat the gum line and teeth to kill bacteria and keep breath fresh.
5) Follow the oral hygiene instructions provided by your dentist and hygienist, and have regular dental cleanings and checkups.
OraMD can be very strong, or “burn”, the first several times you use it. They state that this will subside within 2-7 days of continual use. For me, it is not unlike the usual “burn” you get from alcohol based mouthwashes. So, compare it to that. They are correct in that it only takes a few drops to do the trick! It smells, and taste, like spearmint. The first time I tried it, I was surprised at how cool and clean it left my mouth feeling. I went on about my daily business. Later in the afternoon, I could still taste the mint in my mouth! That was a new feeling. Most of the time with regular toothpaste and mouthwash, the freshness disappears in no time.
I have been using the OraMD daily. Every so often, I have also used my whitening toothpaste, followed by the OraMD. I’m pleased with how it is working, as far as my breath and the taste in mouth. The strong taste, or burn, did get better with each use and I really don’t notice it much anymore.
The OraMD is safe for children age 3 and older with no allergies to peppermint, spearmint, or nuts. Although in my opinion, I would keep this for the adults or older children. I am not sure younger children would understand, or appreciate the strong taste.
Overall, I love the OraMD and would recommend it. My mouth has certainly been fresher, even lasting throughout the day while using it. I love the fact that it is all natural! And, did I mention it will save you money? If you normally purchase toothpaste, mouthwash, and breath fresheners – think about it! One product to cover all three uses! You only use a few drops and each bottle will last a month or longer, depending on usage! In my opinion, it is worth the money.
