Personalized Hand Painted Memory Box Review & Giveaway!

Have you ever heard of a Memory Box? I have one that I have had all my life it seems like. Actually, it was given to me by my grandfather when I was only 5 or 6 years old. It was hand made out cedar wood, about the size of a cigar box maybe a little longer. It was very special to me because my grandfather had made it for me with his own hands. I kept my most treasured possessions in it as a child. Nothing important to most adults, but things like seashells, special rocks, a necklace that had belonged to my mother, a little lipstick that belonged to my mother, along with other odds and ends of childhood.

Over the years, items were added to my box. The items in my memory box each held a special memory to me. As a teenager, other items were added like trinkets from boyfriends, special love notes, pictures – teenager stuff. As you can tell, my box became quite full. To this very day, I still have my memory box and it is full of my lifelong memories! To open it takes me back in time. It’s a little like sitting back and watching a movie of your life. When I pick up the necklace that belonged to my mother, or the little lipstick tube that was hers, her memory and all those special moments come to life again. I see her applying her lipstick in the mirror and for a few moments time stands still. For those that don’t know, I lost my mother when I was only 7 years old to a tragedy, so those items and memories are truly cherished by me. Each item in the box has it’s own personal story and memory attached. I can get lost for hours just going back in time with each item! Needless to say, my memory box and it’s multitude of past memories is one of my most prized possessions! It’s my own personal Pandora’s box of memories!

Since having a memory box of my own, and knowing the joy it can bring, I was thrilled to have a chance to review a personalized hand painted memory box from PaintMama. The Personalized Memory Box from PaintMama is handmade. It consist of a wooden box, metal hinges, acrylic paint, water based sealer and rhinestones. The boxes are made to order meaning you can pick your colors, name, etc. They are then hand painted just for you. I chose the vibrant shades of pinks for Kailey because pink is her favorite color.

The box is larger than I actually expected it to be, which is great! It’s a very nice size – about the size of a flat shoe box! The memory box is extremely well made and very sturdy. The hand painting is exceptional! It has a quality that will last throughout the years, from her childhood to her teenage years, and then truly a “memory box” as an adult!
