At our house, some form of potatoes are a staple at every meal. French fries are one of my favorites, especially homemade fries. YUM! However, few things are as tedious as cutting potatoes for homemade french fries. But, what if I told you there was a quicker way than with the old pairing knife to cut potatoes for french fries? Well, there is, it’s the French Fry cutter from Culina Collection!
The Culina French Fry cutter takes the work out of prep work by slicing the whole potato with a simple press on the handle. One press of the handle and the whole potato is sliced! There are two sizes of blade which are simple to change, allowing an easy choice for thin and crispy or thicker steak fries.
The Culina French Fry Cutter can also be used to julienne other vegetables such as cucumbers, squash, carrots, etc. which is great for stir-frys and salads!
The unit has suction feet to keep it stable on the counter-top. Pressing down on the sturdy, well made handle gives quick easy cuts, meaning you can get to eating your fries much more quickly than hand slicing!
The French Fry Cutter has a rounded well, or bed, for the vegetable you are slicing. Just place it in a and then press down on the handle. The handle is easy to press down, requiring little effort. The blades are super sharp, so there is no struggling to press the handle down. In a split second the potato was sliced! Just that quick! I was really impressed.
With one press of the handle, you have perfectly sliced fries! Oh my! Where has this been all my life?! It made quick work of slicing up the fries!
When you are finished cutting your potatoes, cleanup is easy. Release the press plate with a quick turn of the dial (pic on left). For the blade (pic on right), just push in the button on the top and it easily slides out of the bottom. With a quick rinse in soapy water, you’re done!
I cannot say enough good things about the Culina French Fry Cutter! If there is a con to the fry cutter, it’s that it isn’t elevated enough to fit a bowl under it. But, with the time it saves on slicing I didn’t mind slicing into a saucer and then adding it to a bowl. I honestly didn’t know what I was missing until I got it. It cuts your kitchen prep time and makes your food look like it was cut by a professional! We’ve had perfect french fries, great looking stir fry and some awesome looking salads – all thanks to the Fry Cutter!

Well I would have to love home fries and stir fry’s to enter this giveaway wouldn’t I?? Besides that, this reminds me of the “vego-matic” that my Mama used to have when I was growing up. I always liked using that thing but it made the fries too small, not big like these look like. They were more like shoestring potatoes.
