Glass Dharma Glass Straws: A Beautiful Way to be Eco Friendly!

I’ve been telling you that we are making making a conscious effort to be more earth friendly at my house. We are recycling what we can and, most importantly, reusing when we can. I have also been on a mission to reduce chemicals and toxins in our home, this includes plastic and other kitchen products that leach toxins into our food. Plastic is a blight on our earth in that it doesn’t deteriorate and clogs up our landfills. It is also a problem in our everyday kitchen products in that it silently leaches toxins into our foods. This applies all the way down to the simple plastic straws we use to drink with daily.

Glass-Dharma-glass-straw-assortment

It’s one of those things you don’t give much thought too, but we should. I mean – really! Can you imagine the number of plastic straws ending up in the landfills on a daily basis? Wowza! What if I told you there was a much better, and prettier, solution? Well, there is! Have you heard of Glass Dharma glass straws? If not, let me tell you about my new favorite straws! You may just decide you want to be earth friendly with these pretty non toxic glass straws too!

Glass-Dharma-glass-straws

Glass Dharma sent me a selection of glass straws including one of their Beautiful Bend, Green Decorative Dot and Shorty in the 9.5 mm diameter. Also included was their Smoothie Straw in 12mm diameter, which makes it really nice for extra thick smoothies! I also received a cleaning brush. They are even more beautiful in person and I was super excited to try them out! I guess you could call me a straw addict! I use a straw for everything! My teeth are overly sensitive to cold and straws make drinking cold things easier. Yes, I am one of the ones (up until now) that has been contributing to our landfill pileup with my plastic straws. Not anymore! I am LOVING my glass straws!

But wait! You may be thinking a few plastic straws never hurt anything. Well, do you know according to McDonald’s website they serve an average of 52 million meals PER DAY! How many of those meals do you think included a straw? This is just McDonalds! What about all the other fast food chains, restaurants and homes? Yikes! This really gives you food for thought doesn’t it?

By using my reusable shopping bags instead of plastic, filtering my own water instead of buying plastic water bottles and now replacing my plastic straws with Glass Dharma reusable glass straws, I feel like I am moving a step forward in helping reduce plastic pollution.

Benefits of using glass straws

•Glass straws don’t leach toxins into your food as you drink.
•Each time you use your glass straw equals one less plastic straw ending up in your landfill.
•One glass straw replaces thousands of plastic straws. (How many times will you use a straw the rest of your life?)
•Using your glass drinking straw adds a feeling of beauty to your day.
•Made of borosilicate tubing and is the strongest glass commercially available.

Glass Dharma glass straws are backed by a 100% Satisfaction Guarantee. If they don’t meet your expectations, just return them for a full refund. They are also covered with an unbelievable Lifetime Guarantee Against Breakage! This means that if they ever break, they will replace them – FREE! And, if I forgot to mention, they are made right here in the USA!

Glass-Dharma-glass-straws-shorty

I am absolutely thrilled with my glass straws! It’s hard to say which is my favorite. I believe I like the ‘Beautiful Bend’ for my iced tea, love the ‘decorative dots’ for smoothies and the ‘shorty’ is perfect for my juice glass in the mornings! They make an ordinary glass look spectacular and elegant! In a nutshell: they are amazing, beautiful, microwave and dishwasher safe, do not leach toxins and eco friendly. What’s not to love?

Kale-Green-Smoothie-with-Pineapple-Peach-and-Mango

Glass Dharma straws are not only great for your everyday drinks, they are perfect for entertaining! They dress up your table and make the drinks absolutely stunning! I’m with the smoothie crowd, one of the only drinks I use straws on at home.. smoothies and milkshakes.. Although with straws as beautiful as these, I might change that! Bonus super easy smoothie/milkshake-ish recipe: Pineapple sherbert and Simply Orange orange juice is awesome! Blend with ice for a lower calorie // less potent version since this is very very sweet as is.
