As a child I fell in love with the bed time stories that my Grandparents (as I lived with my Grandparents) told me. Sometimes they told me tales they made up as they went and other times they’d allow me to select one of my favorite books from my bookcase so they could read it to me. I cherish the memories I have of those nights snuggled deep under the covers and listening to the stories more than almost any other childhood memories. I carry those memories with me to this day. Now, as my own daughter embarks on the path of parenthood, she is continuing the tradition of bedtime stories with her little one, just as I did with her.

To make Kailey’s story time even more special, we have found these amazing I See Me books! They are Personalized Children’s books that place  her right into the story line by using her name and picture! She absolutely lights up to see herself in the book and hear the story!

About I See Me Personalized Children’s Books

Their mission is to increase self esteem in children through personalized books that celebrate the uniqueness of each child. The goal of their books is to show each child how absolutely unique and special he or she is, to teach the child how to spell his or her name, and to build vocabulary skills.

When I first heard of these personalized children’s books, I thought it was a cute idea. What I didn’t realize was just how cute, special and really unique they are! They are super nice books with hardback covers and high gloss colorful pages that capture your attention right from the start. When your little sees themselves in the book and story, it brings it all to life for them. I See Me books are truly unique gifts that little ones will love and cherish for a lifetime!

At age 6, I knew Kailey would love the Princess and the Sweet Dreams Fairy books. Like most little girls her age, she is all about anything Princess. With my book choices made, it was time for the fun part – the personalization.

How the Personalization Process Works:

I started with the personalization by typing in her name, age, choosing a hair color, eye color, skin color and favorite dress color for her character. Then, you give her friends names, so her real friends are incorporated into the stories too! You even give her home town and it is incorporated into the story as the kingdom name or the fairy circle name!

The next step was the dedication. You choose your favorite dedication words from their drop down list, then add who it is from (the sender) and what year. Then, you can also send in a picture to add to the dedication page. I chose the two photos above – one for each book. That’s all there is to it! It takes about 2 weeks to be delivered to your doorstep.

The dedication page, along with their pic and name, makes the I See Me books great personalized gifts for a special child in your life. Even when they are to old to appreciate the story anymore, the book will be an amazing keepsake to go along with their amazing memories of childhood story time! Children love seeing the picture on the dedication page! Kailey’s own face looking back at her from within the book caught her attention right off. She definitely said “I See Me”!

The Sweet Dreams, Fairy is a 24 page storybook that tells the story of busy forest fairy who eats dinner with her family, tends to her garden, gets ready for bed and lets magical bedtime stories float her off to sleep. Kailey just loves it! She is the star Fairy and her friends are all there with her!

By the looks of her eyes, she is about to float off into fairy land sleep!

Princess: The Day in the Life of a Princess is a lovely gift for that special little girl we all know who has often envisioned living life as a princess. It has 24 beautifully illustrated pages that star your child throughout the story. Kailey is really enjoying this one! She is stuck on that dedication page again with her picture. I think that is as magical to her as the story with her name!

Kailey enjoys just looking at the pictures, and at age 6, she can read a little on her own. Most nights, she jumps into bed and gets started while waiting on the full feature to be read by Mom or Dad!

Needless to say, we LOVE these books! It is such a brilliant idea to incorporate their name and friends into the story. Not only does it spark their imagination, it has made Kailey want to read! A child wanting to read is always a good thing! Most of all, the I See Me books adds another special element to story time. As she grows up and takes those special memories with her, she will have her own special keepsake book to go along with them. Again, I can’t think of a more awesome and amazing gift for a special child in your life. I See Me has books for girls and boys and they also offer other unique gifts such as personalized Lunchboxes, Puzzles, Coloring Books, Placemats, Stickers and Growth Charts!
