Each year the perennial plants out there will be on sale, which makes them sought after by gardening experts. One of the more common reasons you may want to have a set of shade loving plants would be because your place is not really all that sunny. For starters you will need to have knowledge of which types of plants you can use to make your lack of sunlight less of a problem and more of an advantage to your home:
How to Pick Shade Loving Plants for Your Garden
Heuchera
This is usually one of the plants you can really use the Heuchera genus plants. There are quite a few of varieties you can make use of in terms of colors and good looks. They can range from orange and black to silvery and even burgundy red. When it comes to Heuchera you can count on its good looks, while some varieties may even have flowers with slender and tall stems.
Dead Nettles (Lamium maculatum)
This is a silver foliage plant with some really lovely white, red or even pink and purple blooms that can be seen each and every summer out there. It is more shade loving than the other examples on the list without it becoming an invasive plant that you can use around the area. You may have found plenty of ways you can make use of them and they can be used for composting s well during your gardening work.
Foamflower (Tiarella cordifolia)
This is one plant that bears a semblance to Heuchera when it comes to leaf and form, but instead of having the matte leaves of the former it has shiny leaves instead. The flowers will be of white or pale pink color and they happen to look more interesting than Heuchera as well. There are even varieties with burgundy bits in their flowers.
Astilbe
These have some colorful and impressive plumes ranging from deeper red hues to darker green and even bronze if you want to use them around the garden. There are varieties that have different hues, bloom time and a bit more to add some more interesting aesthetics and textures all throughout the season.
Pulmonaria (Lungwort)
This is one plant with beautiful silvery colored leaves, narrow and long that come around in silver or even spotted silver colors. Lungwort will flower during the spring with some gorgeous looking blue flowers, with shades all the way to pink.
Primroses (Primula)
If you have nice and moist soil for gardening and landscaping, these can be really easy to grow in the shade. They happen to be quite numerous in number of species, such as more than 400 known kinds in pretty much almost any color and from really short to over four feet in height.
Lady’s Mantle (Alchemilla)
These flowers are really nice when it comes to rainfall, as whatever falls on them will bead up into small droplets. The flowers will come around in the early days of summer with some yellow and green colors that would be great filler for bouquets all around. They are also pretty strong as they can survive quite a bit other plants would die facing.
